Document: Obtain daily voltage data files from NI system

Version: 6/16/2010

From August of 2009 we are using a new PC, with Windows XP OS, to call Bahamas and obtain the NI voltage data. The name of this new computer is 'CableCall2' and is located at the third floor Computer Room.

The user name in that PC is: FS cable group
                             (Bahamas2010!)

Steps to obtain the daily voltage data measurements by the NI system in Bahamas:

1) Execute the scheduled Task in CableCall called: Call_Bahamas_everyday

This is a PcAnywhere application used to receive from the host computer (NI system PC at Eight Mile Rock, Bahamas) the daily minute voltage data.

The Call_Bahamas_everyday task is automatically run at 2:03 GMT every day.

To do this manually,

 (a) Open the Scheduled Task in the lower left corner task bar,
 (b) Right click on the Call_Bahamas_everyday task,
 (c) Click run.

2) Transfer the NI file(s) that need to be processed to phodnet manually:

In the top/center of the screen of CableCall2 PC there are two icons (shortcuts):
 (i) NI voltage Data YEAR
(ii) Voltage_data_YEAR on 'Phodnet data cable NI'

To transfer to phodnet:
 (a) Open (i). Data file on local directory C:\NIsystem\DataYEAR\
 (b) Open (ii). Data file on Phodnet: /phodnet/data/cable/NI/Voltage_data_YEAR
 (c) Copy the needed voltage file(s) from (a) to (b)

The word 'YEAR' in the above instructions represent the current year; e.g. 2010.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to new security standard in the AOML network, a user name is needed to connect to Phodnet, after the CableCall2 PC is restarted. Please use:

                           User name: cable

When you are connected to Phodnet you can execute the scheduled task called: xfer_2_phodnet...
